Dr. Suran Rajapakse

Dr Suran Rajapakse has been providing comprehensive medical care to patients in Canberra since 2013. After graduating as a doctor in Sri Lanka in 2005, he completed a Master’s degree at Monash University in Melbourne before pursuing General Practice. He gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2016.

Following his Fellowship, Dr Rajapakse pursued his passion for procedural medicine, traveling to Vancouver, Canada for specialized training under Dr. Neil Pollock, a world-renowned pioneer in infant and adult circumcision procedures and vasectomies. This expertise has made him one of the few GPs in Canberra offering minimally invasive vasectomy and circumcision for infants, children, and adults using the latest techniques.

Dr Rajapakse is the owner of Gentle Procedures Canberra Clinic (gentleprocedurescanberra.com.au) and Gentle Hands Skin Cancer and Tongue Tie Clinic (gentlehands.com.au), and has successfully completed over 4,000 procedures. His clinics are part of a network of over 60 worldwide facilities offering the most advanced procedures in these specialized fields.

Skin Cancer Expertise

As an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College Australasia, Dr Rajapakse has completed extensive training in dermoscopy and advanced skin cancer surgery techniques. He provides comprehensive skin cancer prevention, diagnosis, and surgical treatment—from simple to complex procedures. Notably, Gentle Hands Skin Cancer Clinic is the first in Canberra to offer Automated Total Body Mapping using the state-of-the-art FotoFinder bodystudio ATBM® mole monitoring system.

Additional Services

Dr Rajapakse offers a wide range of advanced procedures including ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal joint injections, early pregnancy point-of-care ultrasound scanning, ultrasound for muscular tears, foreign body detection, and assessment of lumps and bumps.

Personal Life

Outside of work, Dr Rajapakse enjoys travelling, adventure sports, and playing competitive cricket. Most of all, he cherishes spending time with his wife and two young sons.
